Dedication of 10 MVA Power transformer to Public, installed and commissioned at Chuchot Substation.

The Administrative Secretary Power and NRE Department Sh. Rudra Goud PT (IAS) dedicated a newly commissioned 10 MVA Power Transformer for public utility on 08th December 2025. Chief Engineer Ladakh PDD Sh. Tsewang Paljor, Superintending Engineer PDD Sh. Tundup Spalzang, Executive Engineer STD Leh Smt. Rinchen Wangmo along with other officers of PDD and executing agencies attended the event.
The project has been executed by the Sub-Transmission Division Leh of Ladakh PDD, approved under the SDP budget 2024-25 of UT Ladakh, the project has been completed with a total cost of Rs. 2.86 Crores. The work has been executed by M/s SF Enterprises.
A 10 MVA Power Transformer has been installed under the works to augment the substation capacity to meet the growing power demand of the adjoining areas of Leh from Spituk to Palam Chuchot and Choglamsar areas through new feeders.
The Chuchot Substation also caters to the load of the newly constructed KBR Airport New Terminal Building with a dedicated 6.3 MVA Power Transformer, commissioned in October 2025.
The addition has relieved much of the load stress on the Leh Bombgarh substation during the winter season.
