    10th anniversary of Beti Bachao Beti Padhao scheme observed in Baroo, Kargil.
    Kargil, January 22, 2025: The District Hub for Empowerment of Women (DHEW) under Mission Shakti Kargil today marked the 10-year completion of the Beti Bachao Beti Padhao (BBBP) scheme with a solemn Oath-Taking Ceremony at Conference Hall, Baroo Kargil.
    The event was attended by Ghulam Mohi ud Din Wani, Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC) Kargil; Aga Syed Jamal, Child Development Project Officer (CDPO) Sankoo; Raza Ali Abidi, AD Information & Public Relations; Aabid Hussain, Superintendent ITI Kargil; Mohd Ibrahim Shoqi, representative of DYSSO; Haji Manzoor Hussain, AR Cooperative; CDPOs of Drass, Shargole, and Chiktan, along with staff from ICDS, One Stop Centre, DHEW, and AWWs of District Kargil.
    The ceremony began with a welcome address by Mansoor Hussain, Financial Specialist, DHEW, followed by a detailed presentation highlighting the achievements of the Beti Bachao Beti Padhao scheme in the district.
    In his address, ADC Kargil, Ghulam Mohi ud Din Wani, emphasized the important role of women in societal development. He expressed appreciation for the initiative, noting that women play an essential role in uplifting communities.
    The ADC said that the Government of India has launched several key initiatives and schemes aimed at achieving gender equality and empowering women.
    He says Ladakh is fortunate to have a gender-balanced society compared to many other states where women still struggle for respect and dignity.
    The ADC lauded the women in various departments across Ladakh, highlighting their significant contributions. He further encouraged the participants, especially the Anganwadi Workers (AWWs), to continue their diligent work, as their efforts at the grassroots level directly impact society.
    CDPO Sankoo, Syed Jamal, presented the vote of thanks, expressing gratitude to all participants and especially to the chief guest, ADC Kargil, for his unwavering support and active interest in the welfare of women and children. He also acknowledged the hard work of the workers involved in the program.
    The event concluded with a pledge to support and uphold the ideals of the BBBP, reinforcing the collective commitment to the empowerment and safety of girls.
