3-day capacity building program for dairy, apricot farmers concludes in Kargil.
Kargil, Sept 06, 2024: A three-day capacity-building program for dairy and apricot farmers from various blocks of Kargil under the Ladakh Skill Development Mission concluded today with assessments and certification at Conference Hall, Baroo Kargil.
The program was organized by the District Skill Committee Kargil in collaboration with the Animal Husbandry and Horticulture Departments. It aimed to enhance the knowledge and skills of local dairy and apricot farmers, empowering them to adopt modern practices for improved dairy production and livestock management.
Chief Planning Officer, Abdul Hadi was the chief guest of the program, while Dr. Gulzar Hussain, Chief Animal Husbandry Officer (CAHO) Kargil; Mohd Zaffar, Chief Horticulture Officer, were guests of honor, Kinzang Angmo, Horticulture Development Officer; Mohd Ali, Horticulture Development Officer; Mohd Mukhtar Khan, HDO; Mohd Ali Khan and Sr. Instructor ITI, Hajira, also attended the program. Resources person Jaswan Singh Kalsi, Chief Operating Officer (CEASI); Dr. Ritu Sharma, Head of Operations (CEHSI); Dr. Neena Chauhan, Asst. Professor (RRSH); Assistant Manager (CEDSI) Kritika were also present during the concluding ceremony.
Chief guest Abdul Hadi welcomed all esteemed experts from the Center of Excellence for Agriculture and Horticulture under Skill Development India. He expressed gratitude to the doctors and officials from Animal Husbandry and Horticulture Departments for their active contribution to the successful training sessions.
He assured the trainees that future training sessions would be conducted and that their feedback would be addressed by the district administration.
During his interactions with the trainees and experts, the CPO expressed best wishes to all on behalf of Deputy Commissioner Kargil, Shrikant Balasaheb Suse.
Dr. Gulzar Hussain thanked the experts from the Center of Excellence for traveling a long distance to share their knowledge and expertise with the local farming community. He highlighted the importance of such collaborations in bringing high-quality training and valuable insights to the region and extended his thanks to the District Skill Development Committee for organizing this program focused on dairy development.
Chief Horticulture Officer, Mohd Zargar acknowledged the critical role of such initiatives in equipping farmers with the necessary skills to advance their practices and contribute to the overall development of the horticulture sector in Kargil.
He also thanked the trainees for their commitment to attending the program despite their busy schedules, recognizing their dedication to improving their livelihoods in the region.
The sessions combined theoretical knowledge and practical demonstrations, ensuring that the farmers gained both conceptual understanding and hands-on experience. In the end certificates were distributed to farmers based on their assessments.
