    3-day capacity building program for dairy farmers begins in Kargil under Ladakh Skill Development Mission.
    Kargil, Sept 04, 2024: A 3-day capacity building program for dairy farmers from various blocks of the district commenced today at the Disease Investigation Office (DIO) Conference Hall, Kurbathang.
    The program was organized under Ladakh Skill Development Mission by District Skill Committee Kargil in collaboration with Animal Husbandry Department Kargil to enhance the knowledge and skills of local dairy farmers, empowering them to adopt modern practices for improved dairy production and livestock management.
    The inaugural ceremony was graced by Dr. Gulzar Hussain, Chief Animal Husbandry Officer (CAHO) Kargil, who launched the program in presence of esteemed experts from the Centre of Excellence for Agriculture under Skill Development India. Doctors and officials from the Animal Husbandry Department Kargil, who will be actively involved in the training sessions over the next three days, were also present.
    During his inaugural address, Dr. Gulzar Hussain expressed gratitude to the experts from Centre of Excellence for Agriculture, who travelled a long distance to share their knowledge and expertise with the local farming community. He highlighted the importance of such collaborations in bringing high-quality training and valuable insights to the region.
    Dr. Gulzar also extended his gratitude to the District Skill Development Committee for organizing this fruitful program focused on dairy development. He acknowledged the critical role that such initiatives play in equipping farmers with skills necessary to advance their practices and contribute to overall development of the dairy sector in Kargil.
    Moreover, Dr. Gulzar thanked farmers who attended the program, recognizing the challenges they faced in making time for this training despite their busy schedules. He emphasized that their commitment to learning and improving their skills is a testament to their dedication to the betterment of their livelihoods and dairy industry in the region.
    The program is designed to cover a wide range of topics essential for dairy farming, including modern dairy management practices, disease prevention and control, efficient milk production techniques, and strategies for improving the overall health and productivity of livestock.
    The training sessions will be a blend of theoretical knowledge and practical demonstrations, ensuring that the farmers not only learn the concepts but also gain hands-on experience.
    Experts from the Centre of Excellence for Agriculture will lead the sessions, sharing their in-depth knowledge and experiences with the participants.
