3-day intramural tournament begins at GDC Drass.

Kargil, Sep 11, 2023: Department of Physical Education and Sports, Govt. Degree College Drass today kick-started a three-day intramural tournament in various sports activities.
Dr Amjad Ali Abbasi, Principal GDC Drass, inaugurated the event and briefed the players about the scope and importance of sports and emphasized the significance of physical exercise to human body for keeping oneself fit and healthy.
He advised the players to enjoy the games and maintain spirit of the game as well. He also lauded the Director Physical Education and Sports, Mohd Yassin, for organizing the tournament in an organized way.
The event started with Men Volleyball Match between Tololing House and Tiger Hill House, in which Tiger hill House emerged as winner and the second match was played between two women teams; Batra Top and Zojila top. Team Zojila Top won the match with a margin of 08 points.
In the afternoon session, a Table Tennis matches were held. The first match was played between Mohammad Ashraf of 3rd semester and Mubasir Hussain of 1st semester.
The former player won the match by defeating the latter by 2-1. The second match was played between Naseem Ahmad of 3rd semester and Mudasir Hussain of 5th semester in which Naseem defeated his rival with a close margin.
The first women table tennis match was played between Farhat Anjum of 3rd semester and Archo Kubraof 5th semester, which was won by Farhat Anjum.
Assistant Professor of Zoology Mohd Ali was the match referee in volleyball matches. Day one of the Intramural Tournament concluded with vote of thanks by Manzoor Hussain Assistant Professor Chemistry.
