68th National School Games U-19 Boys/Girls Table Tennis Championship 2024 Held at NDS Indoor Stadium Leh.
Leh, October 5, 2024: The 68th National School Games U-19 Boys/Girls Table Tennis Championship 2024 was successfully organized by Department of Youth Services & Sports, UT Ladakh in collaboration with School Games Federation of India (SGFI). Administrative Secretary, Youth Services and Sports Vikram Singh Malik was the Chief Guest for the event.
In his welcome speech, District Youth Services and Sports Officer Leh Tsering Tashi greeted the participants and set the tone for the event. He mentioned that 31 teams from different States, Union Territories and other institutions are participating in the four-day event.
The Chief Guest addressed the audience, offering words of encouragement to the players and expressing his support for the development of sports at the local level. He congratulated all the participating students, coaches and managers for their enthusiasm. Later, the Chief Guest interacted with the players adding a personal touch to the championship’s opening ceremony.
The opening match of the Table Tennis Championship held with a match in Boys category between Gujarat and West Bengal team. The ceremony concluded with a cultural performance by the Cultural Academy of Traditional Sports (CATs), featuring the vibrant Spawo dance, showcasing the rich heritage of Ladakh.
The event was attended by Director, Housing and Urban Development Moses Kunzang (JKAS), Chief Engineer PDD Tsewang Paljor, Observer School Games Federation of India NR Murali, Field Officer School Games Federation of India Kanak Chakardhar, Chief Refree School Games Federation of India Jityang Bhatt and other officers and officials from various departments.
