DC Leh Santosh Sukhadeve reviews flash flood restoration works.

Leh, July 27: Deputy Commissioner/CEO, LAHDC, Leh, Santosh Sukhadeve chaired a meeting to review the ongoing flood restoration works in sub-divisions of the district at DC mini Conference Hall today.
DC Leh took stock of measures undertaken for the restoration of power, water supply, road connectivity, irrigation khuls, standing crops, and other essential services in the flood-affected villages of various blocks in the district.
Directions were given to the SDMs to proactively execute restoration activities in coordination with the concerned departments and continue closely monitoring the ongoing works.
He stressed to undertake humane approach while the assessments are conducted so that proper assistance can be provided to the affected people. Further, he directed that the consolidated information of work done liability in the sub-divisions should be provided by the concerned officials by evening so that funds can be released.
Additionally, he directed SDMs and Tehsildars to lead the operations and work in coordination to proactively handle any potential incidents in case of any eventuality in the future, ensuring disaster preparedness in advance.
Earlier, concerned officials provided detailed updates on the number of vehicles, agricultural land, cattle affected during the flash flood as well as the ongoing relief and restoration in adversely affected locations. They also apprised the Chairman of the progress made in rescue and rehabilitation operations to date.
The meeting was attended by Assistant Deputy Commissioner (ADC), Additional District Development Commissioner (ADDC), Chief Planning Officer (CPO), Assistant Commissioner Revenue (ACR), Sub-Divisional Magistrate (SDM) Nyoma, Tehsildar Leh along with SDMs and others who joined the meeting virtually.
