‘Meri Maati Mera Desh’ celebrations continue for fifth consecutive day in district Kargil.
Kargil, August 13, 2023: Paying a heartfelt tribute to the valiant soldiers who made the ultimate sacrifice for the nation, the ‘Meri Maati Mera Desh’ campaign entered its fifth consecutive day of commemoration across multiple Panchayats within the Kargil district.
The ‘Meri Maati Mera Desh’ campaign was solemnly observed today in numerous Gram Panchayats spanning various blocks within the Kargil district. These included Panchayat Halqa Sanjak, Panchayat Halqa Chiktan in Block Shakar Chiktan, Panchayat Halqa Trongen, as well as at significant locations like Amrit Sarowar Tank Kargee, Taisuru, Muradbagh, Mulbekh, and Gram Panchayat Chulichan in Block Sodh, among others.
In addition to the commemorative events of the program, the distinguished recipients of gallantry awards were reverently honored and felicitated at several Memorial Plaques spread throughout the district.
Besides, BDOs, other Block and Tehsil level officers were present during the events. The NYK volunteers, VLWs, GRS, NRLM staff, students and teachers also participated enthusiastically.
The campaign was organized by the RD&PRD Kargil in collaboration with District Administration Kargil in which the students of many schools participated as well.
As part of the Meri Maati Mera Desh campaign, besides the families of the deceased soldiers, who lost their lives in the line of duty were honored and felicitated, the installation of Shilaphalakam (memorial plaque) were installed at different Gram Panchayats, Plantation and the Panch Pran Pledge were taken by Officers, students, local residents etc. while holding the soil (Mitti) in the hands at different Gram Panchayats.
Meanwhile, the Har Ghar Tiranga Campaign being observed from August 13 to 15 was also celebrated across the Kargil district and saw enthusiastic participation of the public, students and other concerned stakeholders.
