2nd edition of Ladakh Education Fair organized at Sankoo Campus GDC Kargil.
Kargil, August 24, 2023: Sankoo Campus, GDC Kargil hosted the second Edition of Ladakh Education Fair 2023 at the college campus. The main theme of this year event was “Skill Up Ladakh.”
Rector Kargil Campus, University of Ladakh, Kaneez Fatima inaugurated the event as the chief guest and Mohammed Kazim Superintendent ITI Kargil attended the event as guest of the honour.
Piloted by the NCC Cadets of the college, the guests visited the stall exhibition installed by various departments and educational institutions as well.
Skill competition products, hydroponics, apprenticeship help desk, scholarship schemes stall, local food products, SHGs, local handicrafts and handloom products were the main attraction for visitors during the event. A skill art gallery was also inaugurated by the chief guest which was designed by the college students in the campus.
Nodal Principal of the campus, Dr Saleem Ahmed welcomed the guests in the fair with a brief overview of the programs being held during the two day event.
Students from 10 High and Higher Secondary Schools of Sankoo participated in the fair with great zeal and enthusiasm for exploring knowledge about skill development.
The morning session began with a panel discussion on skill development and youth empowerment where in Dr Nasreen Fatima Kacho, Scientist KVK, Er. Ahmed Ali, CEO Logic Agritech and Dr Javed Iqbal Naqi, Nodal Officer Skills Ladakh took part in the program as panel experts.
All the four experts highlighted the importance of skill development for students in the current scenario according to their respective knowledge and expertise in various fields of skill development.
In her inaugural address, Kaneez Fatima appreciated Sankoo Campus for conducting this beautiful event on the theme “Skill up Ladakh” and said that it’s high time for deliberation and orientation about skill development to the students in current time. She said Sankoo Campus has taken a lead role in fostering skill education among the students through this program.
She also applauded the students for their keen interest in skills and admired them for exhibiting variety of skill products. Assistant Professor English Nasir Ud Din Khafi moderated the panel discussion while Dr Kifayat Hussain (Faculty Urdu Department) conducted the proceedings of the inaugural event.
During the afternoon session Technical Sessions, Trainings and Workshops were conducted in which students from various Higher Secondary Schools participated. These sessions were held on AI, Calligraphic Art, Mental Health, Skill Development and Photography.
Technical Experts like Prof. Mehboob Ali (Kargil Campus, UoL), Anwar Hussain Calligraphic Artist, Syed Hassan Shah (Psychologist), Vinci Abrams and Iftikhaar Hussain (Professional Photographer) conducted these sessions.
The experts were felicitated by the organizers with certificate and traditional khataks. The participating students showed keen interest during these sessions and enquired about various skill activities being introduced at higher education level.
The college authorities expressed gratitude to Commissioner/Secretary Higher Education, Ladakh Padma Angmo for giving the opportunity to organize this event along with the other colleges of Ladakh UT.
The event shall continue for the second day as well. Different sessions shall be held on the second day besides the valedictory session.
About 15 resource persons are being invited to conduct sessions in various skill activities during the two-day mega event.
Program Coordinator LEF 2023, Dr Javed Iqbal Naqi applauded the efforts of volunteers and organizing members for the arrangements of the event.
