CEC chairs meeting to plan staff rationalization in education dept.; discusses functioning of hostels at Srinagar, Jammu.

Kargil, Nov 03, 2023: Chairman/CEC, LAHDC, Kargil, Dr Mohd Jaffer Akhoon today chaired a meeting to formulate a comprehensive plan on attachment/detachment of employees/rationalization of staff of Education Department Kargil and proper functioning of various Boys/Girls Hostels located at Srinagar and Jammu.
The meeting was attended by Executive Councillor, School Education, LAHDC, Kargil, Addl. Deputy Commissioner, Kargil, SE PW (R&B) Kargil, Chief Education Officer, Kargil and Executive Engineer, R&B Division Kargil.
The CEC directed the Chief Education Officer, Kargil to implement the previous order issued for detachment of teaching/non-teaching staff of Education Department in letter and spirit and those who have not reported their original place of postings till date should be detached immediately.
To tackle the problems being faced by the schools after detachment of teaching staff, a committee has been constituted for rationalization of teaching/non-teaching staff of Education Department under the chairmanship of Additional Deputy Commissioner Kargil.
The committee members have been directed to finalize rationalization process as per desire and need of each and every institution and submit the same to LAHDC, Kargil with their recommendations through Deputy Commissioner/CEO, LAHDC, Kargil to take further action/approval accordingly.
Further, the ADC, Kargil was directed to propose Wardens for all Hostels at Jammu, Srinagar excluding teaching staff of Education Department immediately and submit the same to LAHDC, Kargil for approval, so that the teaching staff presently working as Warden in those hostels could be detached accordingly.
Besides the Executive Engineer, R&B Division, Kargil was directed to handover the administrative control of the hostel buildings to the Chief Education Officer, Kargil immediately. However, the renovation and other works would be carried out by the Public Works Department as per past practice.
