DC Leh Santosh chairs Swadesh Darshan 2.0 meeting for tourism development.
Leh, Dec 29, 2023: Deputy Commissioner, Leh, Santosh Sukhadeve chaired a meeting today of the Destination Management Committee (DMC) under the Swadesh Darshan 2.0 initiative to discuss the implementation of the scheme.
Member of the PDMC, Gurleen Kaur gave a detailed presentation on Swadesh Darshan 2.0, outlining the vision and objectives of the initiative.
The meeting secured the approval for the action plan, marking a substantial step forward in the execution of the project.
Additionally, discussions centered around the finalization of the official logo for the initiative, with a target set to conclude the process by the end of January. The committee deliberated on the web content strategy, emphasizing the importance of a user-friendly and informative online presence.
Recognizing the significance of capturing the essence of Ladakh throughout the year, it was decided that local photographers would be engaged to provide year-round photographs for promotional materials.
The committee also highlighted the importance of a signature tune for Leh, and it was agreed that the Culture Department of Leh would be consulted for its development.
In a bid to enhance the tourism experience, the committee addressed plans for influencer trips and a photo contest, aiming to showcase Ladakh’s unique beauty through various perspectives, as these initiatives are expected to create a buzz around Ladakh as a must-visit destination.
Beyond tourism promotion, the meeting also discussed broader issues concerning the holistic development and transformation of Ladakh. Discussions included initiatives for the skilling of tourist-related service staff, ensuring a high standard of hospitality and services for visitors.
