CEC Dr Jaffer visits Zojila axis to take assessment of snow clearance works.

Kargil, Feb 08, 2024: Chairman/Chief Executive Councillor, LAHDC, Kargil, Dr Mohd Jaffer Akhoon today visited Zojila axis to take assessment of snow clearance works.
During the visit, the CEC took on spot assessment of snow clearance works and visited Zojila axis till Zero Point.
The CEC expressed satisfaction with the speed of snow clearance and commended the efforts of the Border Roads Organization (BRO) and its workers for operating in a mission-oriented manner. Their dedication led to the opening of the Zojila axis for the longest duration this year.
He also expressed gratitude to Sub Division Administration Drass, Project VIJAYAK, Project BEACON and Ganderbal Administration on Sonmarg side for the cooperation for making the Zojila axis functional for traffic.
CEC Dr Jaffer said that the reopening of Zojila axis will be decided subject to feasible weather.
The CEC also expressed gratitude to Hon’ble Lieutenant Governor Ladakh for his able direction and efforts in making Zojila axis open for maximum time this year.
Executive Councilor, Education, Zakir Hussain, Councilor Bhimbhat, Abdul Wahid, SDM Drass Vishal Atri, Exen Mechanical Division, Commanding Officer Project Vijayak, Deputy SP Traffic besides other concerned officers accompanied the CEC during the tour.
