    CEC attends final cricket match of Goma Premier League at Goma, Kargil.
    Kargil, August 24, 2024: Chairman/CEC, LAHDC, Kargil, Dr Mohd Jaffer Akhoon today attended the final cricket match of Goma Premier League at Goma, Kargil.
    Speaking on the occasion, the CEC of Kargil appreciated the cricket committee for successfully organizing the match. He congratulated the winning and runner-up teams, as well as all the participants who took part in the tournament.
    Dr Jaffer Akhoon said there is no dearth of talent among players in Kargil. He said many players have represented Kargil at national and international platforms including ice hockey, taekwondo and other sports.
    The CEC said LAHDC Kargil is committed to provide the best sports infrastructure. He also said that from village to sub- division level, many grounds, stadiums and rinks have been developed by the Hill Council.
    The organizing committee presented a list of demands to CEC Kargil which mainly includes expansion of the playground, extension of fencing height, relocation of changing room, installation of lighting system, and construction of a multi-purpose stadium.
    Dr Jaffer Akhoon gave a patient hearing to all the demands and assured that they would be addressed promptly in a phased manner. CEC Kargil also announced Rs 2 lakh for the purchase of sports related equipment from the Untied Budget.
    Later, momentos, medals and prizes were distributed among the players of the winner and runner up teams. Gadeer team Pishu won by 11 runs from team Kako Shilkchey.
