GMDC Zanskar celebrates International Youth Day.
Kargil, Sept 05, 2024: Red Ribbon Club, Government Model Degree College Zanskar, in collaboration with Jammu and Kashmir AIDS Control Society, celebrated International Youth Day with great enthusiasm. This year’s theme, “Click to Progress,” highlighted the significance of technology and digital engagement in fostering youth development and progress.
As a part of international Youth Day Celebration, an intramural walkathon was organised August 26, 2024, with enthusiastic participation of students from all Semesters. Certificates were awarded to the top performers in recognition of their efforts.
A debate competition among students aligned with the theme was also held in which students from all Semesters participated.
Additionally, Shabana Akhter and her team delivered an informative presentation on “Acquired Immunodeficiency Syndrome: Prevention, Transmission, and Control.”
Among the faculty, Mustafa Ali, Director Physical Education GMDC Zanskar, delivered an insightful talk on the “Role of Youth in Sports.” He emphasized the critical importance of proper diet and regular exercise for maintaining overall health and enhancing athletic performance.
Dr. Jamphel Sheyan, Assistant Professor of English, presented his view on various challenge faced the students during their academic journey, offering valuable advice on how to overcome them.
Dr. Abid Hussain, Convener, Red Ribbon Club also addressed the gathering and spoke about the theme of the day. He extended his heartfelt thanks to everyone who contributed to the successful celebration of International Youth Day. The entire session was moderated by Rokhsana Perveen, a 5th Semester student.
