13th BN NDRF conducts mock drill at GMDC Zanskar.
Kargil, Sept 06, 2024: The 13th Battalion of National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) Ludhiana, in partnership with GMD College Zanskar today organized a comprehensive mock exercise focused on disaster preparedness exercise included simulations of earthquake response, fire extinguishing, CPR training, and disaster rescue operations.
Assistant Commandant of the 13th Battalion NDRF, Javed Iqbal, along with senior officers from the State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) Ludhiana, Tehsildar Zanskar, SHO Zanskar, faculty members, and students of GMDC Zanskar, students from Higher Secondary School Padum participated in the event.
The Assistant Commandant highlighted the critical importance of such exercises, noting the vital role played by NDRF, SDRF, and Civil Defence in raising public awareness on disaster management, first aid, and other essential life-saving skills. He emphasized the collaborative efforts of these organizations in mobilizing the community and supporting civil authorities during both natural and man-made disasters.
The event featured live demonstrations of various rescue operations, along with the effective use of disaster management equipment, conducted by highly trained NDRF instructors. The practical demonstrations aimed to equip participants with knowledge and skills necessary for effective disaster response.
This exercise stands as a key initiative in preparing local communities and institutions to handle emergencies, reinforcing the ongoing commitment of NDRF and its partners in safeguarding public safety.
