GMDC Zanskar adopts GMMS Salapi, signs MOU.
Kargil, Sept 10, 2024: As a part of community outreach program, Government Model Degree College, Zanskar today adopted Government Model Middle School Salapi.
On this occasion Principal GMDC Zanskar and faculty members visited the school. ZEO Zanskar, VEC members of the village, headmaster and the staff of the school also attended the event.
They were welcomed with traditional khataks by the headmaster of the school. The visiting team from the college was apprised about the recent declaration of the school as Model School in which children from surrounding private institutions were enrolled. This step has resulted in the increase of the roll from ten to more than forty students.
In his address Principal GMDC Zanskar, Mohd Ishaq appreciated the efforts of the villagers and especially the VEC members for the upliftment of the school.
He promised to provide every possible support to the school from GDC Zanskar. The Principal also assured to hold exchange programs and teachers training programs in the coming days. He promised various facilities with the school like labs, sports, library and buses etc. as the school needs.
ZEO Zanskar Tsetan Konchok appreciated the initiative taken by the college and said that such steps will help in enhancing the roll of students in the school.
In the end Headmaster of the school and chairman VEC expressed gratitude to the college Principal for the move. The college administration distributed refreshment and stationery items among the students of the school to mark the beginning of the adoption.
