CEC Dr Akhoon visits Omni Taxi Stand Kargil, addresses grievances of taxi operators.
Kargil, Sept 20, 2024: Chairman/CEC, LAHDC, Kargil, Dr. Mohd Jaffer Akhoon today visited Omni Taxi Stand Kargil to address the grievances of local taxi operators.
During the interaction, the taxi operators highlighted several issues including the need for improved public amenities and macadamization of the taxi stand. They also raised concerns regarding a dispute related to the road connecting upper and lower sections of the stand.
In response, Dr. Akhoon assured the operators that the macadamization of the taxi stand would begin shortly. He also directed Executive Officer, MC Kargil to open the existing toilet facilities at the stand.
Stressing the importance of cleanliness, the CEC noted that functional and clean facilities are essential for convenience of both drivers and passengers, especially in line with the ongoing Swachh Bharat Mission. Regarding the road dispute, the CEC assured the operators that it would be addressed at the earliest.
