    Tourism & Culture Department organizes Aryan Festival-2024 at Garkhone.
    Kargil, Sept 21, 2024: Tourism and Culture Department organized Aryan Festival-2024 at Lchangra Gakone village of Aryan valley on Saturday.
    Executive Councilor, LAHDC Kargil, Er Punchok Tashi attended the event as the chief guest while nominated Councilor Regzin Gurmath was guest of honor.
    Assistant Director, Tourism, Kargil Rahmatullah Bhat presented welcome speech. He expressed gratitude to the dignitaries, guests, tourists, artists and villagers of Aryan valley for their participation. He emphasized the Tourism Department’s commitment to promoting Aryan valley as tourist destination by organizing such cultural events.
    Executive Councilor, Er Punchok Tashi congratulated the people of Aryan valley for celebrating the event and emphasized the importance of preserving and promoting the unique Aryan culture. He encouraged both foreign and domestic tourists to act as ambassadors of Aryan Festival and spread the message of Aryan culture from Ladakh to the wider world.
    EC Tashi directed Tourism Department to ensure better publicity for the Aryan Festival in future year to attract more tourists. He commended the artists for their outstanding performances and reiterated that the festival aims to safeguard the rich cultural heritage of the Aryan valley.
    He said that UT Administration, LAHDC Kargil and Department of Tourism and Culture have committed to preserve the rich culture of Aryan valley and to improve cultural tourism by showcasing its divergent ethnic features, folk traditions, local food, rituals and heritage sites.
    Nominated Councillor, Regzin Gurmath emphasised the importance of unity and cultural preservation in Aryan valley during the significant event that brought the community together. He expressed his gratitude to Tourism and Culture Department for organising the event at grant level.
    He urged the people of Aryan to preserve the unique cultural identity of Aryan valley.
    Solo songs, traditional music and dance form were presented by the artists from Balti and Purgi tribes and villages from Darchik, Garkone, Sanachay, Dha-Bima, Hanu and adjoining villages.
    Prominent citizens, officers and officials of civil and police administration besides domestic, foreign tourists, researchers, artists and large number of people were present during the event.
