Kargil, November 09, 2024: Chairman and Chief Executive Councillor (CEC), LAHDC, Kargil, Dr. Mohd Jaffer Akhoon today inaugurated a new Sub-Centre at Farka Shilikchey.
He was accompanied by Member of Parliament (MP) Ladakh, Mohmad Haneefa and Deputy Commissioner (DC), CEO, LAHDC, Kargil, Shrikant Balasaheb Suse.
The inauguration ceremony was also attended by Dr. Tashi Thinles, Director of Health Services, UT Ladakh; SE, PWD, Skalzang Dorjay; Chief Medical Officer Kargil; Councillor of Poyen Constituency, Mohd Amin; as well as PRI members and local villagers.
Following the inauguration, CEC Dr. Akhoon conducted an inspection of the facility, visited the general OPD ward, drug store, labor room, toilets, and CHO room.
In his address, the CEC commended the quality of work at the facility and appreciated the efforts of the executing agency.
Dr. Akhoon urged the community to utilize the health facility effectively, maintaining its facilities through coordinated efforts. He highlighted various ongoing initiatives by LAHDC, Kargil.
The CEC also responded to community demands for road development, mobile tower installation and bridge at Omachikthang, assuring that these concerns would be addressed.
MP Ladakh, Mohmad Haneefa, emphasised the importance of using the facility’s infrastructure to its fullest potential. He expressed hope that the new center would serve as a well-functioning healthcare hub beyond the role of a sub-centre.
The Deputy Commissioner Kargil also praised the quality of work done by the PWD. He assured allocation of funds from the district capex budget.
Recommending road widening in line with the growing tourist footfall and cooperation from villagers on land provision for the development was sought.
Dr. Tashi Thinles, Director of Health Services, UT Ladakh, highlighted various health initiatives and urged the community to support the implementation of government schemes.
Councillor Poyen acknowledged the LAHDC Kargil’s commitment to enhance healthcare, education, and development projects, expressing gratitude for the council’s continuous support and for sanctioning various projects. The event concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by Shiekh Mehdi Imani.
