    Hon’ble Lt Governor Brig (Dr) BD Mishra (Retd) Attends PM Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojna’s 19th Installment Release Event.

    Leh, 24 February, 2024: The Hon’ble Lieutenant Governor of Ladakh, Brigadier (Dr) BD Mishra (Retd), attended the function of the release of the 19th installment of the PM Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojna, presided over by Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, from Bhagalpur, Bihar. The event took place at the DIHAR Auditorium in Leh.
    Speaking at the event, HLG lauded Prime Minister Narendra Modi for the scheme, highlighting its immense benefits to farmers across the country. He expressed his happiness over the significant progress India has made in agriculture development over the years. Recounting his experiences from the 1960s when India faced famine due to the war in 1962, the HLG emphasized the importance of such initiatives.
    Furthermore, the HLG appreciated the active participation of women farmers and stressed the importance of their empowerment through involvement in agricultural activities. He assured the farmers of Ladakh that the UT Administration is committed to supporting them and encouraged them to approach the officers of the Agriculture Department for any issues concerning agriculture.
    Administration Secretary, Bhupesh Chaudhary, IAS, also spoke on the occasion, expressing his happiness over the HLG’s active support in implementing the scheme. He expressed his gratitude to the HLG for his participation in the event.
    The event concluded with the release of the Logo of International Year of Cooperative by HLG and distribution of agricultural kits to selected farmers of Ladakh, marking a significant step towards promoting agricultural development in the region.
    Administrative Secretary Shri Bhupesh Chaudhary, IAS, Joint Director Agriculture Dr Thinles Dawa, Chief Horticulture Officer Leh, Scientists of DIHAR, officials of the concerned department and farmers were present during the event.
