Two-week Bridge Course under PM-USHA Scheme concludes at GDC Drass.
Kargil, April 30, 2025: GDC Drass concluded the two-week Bridge Course under the PM-USHA Gender Equity Scheme, aimed at facilitating a smooth transition for students from secondary to higher education.
The valedictory ceremony took place in the presence of dignitaries, including Abdul Wahid and Abdul Samad, Councillors of LAHDC, and Vishal Atri, SDM Drass.
The Bridge Course witnessed active participation from students who had passed or appeared for their Class 12 examinations. The initiative focused on enhancing students’ academic and personal readiness through sessions on National Education Policy (NEP) 2020, communication skills, personality development, career counselling, and guided visits to the college library, laboratories, and skill labs.
The course featured lectures by eminent resource persons from various disciplines, providing students with an engaging and multidimensional learning experience. A structured feedback mechanism revealed overwhelmingly positive responses from the participating students, indicating the program’s success.
Principal Dr. Amjad Ali Abbassi welcomed the esteemed guests with traditional khataks and extended his appreciation to both the dignitaries and the students. He encouraged the participants for making informed decisions during their admission process.
Shujat Ali Mir, Coordinator of the Bridge Course, elaborated on the vision and objectives of the program, expressing gratitude to the students for their enthusiastic participation.
In his address, Vishal Atri, SDM Drass, commended the college for organizing such meaningful programs that significantly contribute to students’ career development.
LAHDC Councillors Abdul Wahid and Abdul Samad also lauded the college administration for its efforts in promoting educational equity and skill-building through this initiative.
The session was skillfully moderated by Dr. Ayjaz Ahmad Lone, who ensured the smooth conduct of the event with his eloquent presentation.
As part of the concluding ceremony, prizes were awarded to meritorious students for their exceptional participation, and certificates were distributed to all students who completed the course.
The event concluded with a formal vote of thanks delivered by Mohd Yaasin, Director of Physical Education, who also acknowledged the support of media partners Radio Drass 90.04 FM and Drass Online for covering the event.
