ADC Kargil chairs meeting to discuss preparations for Ladakh UT Foundation Day, National Unity Day.
Kargil, October 25, 2024: Additional Deputy Commissioner Kargil, Ghulam Mohi-Ud-Din Wani today chaired a meeting to discuss preparations for the 6th Foundation Day of Union Territory of Ladakh and National Unity Day (Rashtriya Ekta Diwas).
The meeting focused on various initiatives and preparatory measures to ensure the success of the upcoming event, scheduled for October 31. The venue for celebration of UT Foundation Day will be at Police Lines Kargil.
To make the 6th UT Ladakh Foundation Day and Ekta Diwas (Sardar Patel’s Birthday) vibrant and impactful, the ADC instructed that an “Ekta Pledge” be held, along with a “Run for Unity”.
He directed Assistant Director, Information, Raza Ali Abidi, to set up hoardings. He further emphasized the importance of raising awareness about the event through both electronic and print media for wider public engagement.
The ADC directed the Handloom and Handicraft Department to ensure the installation of art and craft stalls outside Auditorium Hall for the event. ICDS, Agriculture, Horticulture, Industries & Tourism Departments were also asked to install the stalls.
He also instructed the Culture Academy officials to organize a cultural showcase and requested the Police Department to facilitate smooth traffic and security arrangements and for the day’s events.
Highlighting the importance of student involvement, he emphasized that participation from school and college students is essential. To this end, he directed concerned officials to begin rehearsals to ensure the event’s success.
The meeting was attended by several officials, including the Assistant Commissioner Revenue, Abdul Majid Tantray; Assistant Director of Tourism, Rahmatullah Butt; Assistant Labour Commissioner/Handloom, Arifa Iqbal; Headquarter Assistant to DC, Kaneez Fatima; ACD Kargil, Raziya Khatoon; Executive Engineer PDD, Mod Hassan; DPO (ICDS) Nargis Banoo; Agriculture Officer, Zargar; DPEO, Ajaz; Accounts Officer to DC, Zakir Hussain; Inspector of Ladakh Police, Abdullah; Cultural Academy Official, Zakir Hussain; and other representatives from various departments.
