ADDC Leh Reviews MGNREGA Annual Action Plan for FY 2025-26.

Leh, June 2, 2025 – The Additional District Development Commissioner (ADDC) Leh Sonam Nurboo (JKAS), today chaired a follow-up meeting at the Conference Hall, DC Office, Leh, to review the Annual Action Plan under Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Act (MGNREGA) scheme for the financial year 2025-26.
During the meeting, significant progress was reported on the resolution of pending payments to laborers, with a comprehensive report presented to confirm the successful dissolution of these issues. A detailed presentation was also given, outlining data from the previous year and showcasing the proposed action plan for the current fiscal year.
The ADDC Leh urged all Block Development Officers (BDOs) to proactively identify suitable areas for plantation drives in collaboration with the Forest, Agriculture, Horticulture, and Watershed departments. This initiative aims to significantly improve mandays generation under the scheme. BDOs were also instructed to consistently meet their monthly mandays targets.
Discussions also focused on mandays achievements across the Leh district. The ADDC reviewed the data and encouraged BDOs to generate more mandays in blocks with lower percentages. The budget utilization from the previous year was also reviewed, with particular attention paid to ensuring timely payments to laborers.
The meeting also showcased the work progress in various blocks through visual presentations. Assistant Commissioner Development AG Zargar (JKAS) further emphasized the importance of BDOs providing timely requirement notices to concerned departments to ensure the prompt completion of works under the scheme.
The meeting was attended by the Assistant Commissioner (Dev), Leh; District Panchayat Officer, Leh; District Informatics Officer, Leh; Executive Engineer (REW); Block Development Officers of Leh District and other officials.
