All the shopkeepers are being given a notice under the Section 6-b of COTPA.

Leh, Dec 20, 2023: All the shopkeepers are being given a notice under the Section 6-b of COTPA (Cigarette and Other Tobacco Products Act) 2003, no shops can sell tobacco products within 100 yards of educational institutions.
During the recent field visits, the enforcing team found some shopkeepers repeatedly violating the above-mentioned Law.
The monitoring and enforcement drives will intensify in the coming days. Any shop found violating the provision of the law will have to face cancellation of Registration/License of their respective shops without any further notice, by the order of the Deputy Commissioner (Chairman DLCC, NTCP), Leh, as per law.
