    Asst Manager J&K Bank Leh calls on Hon’ble Lt Governor Brig (Dr) BD Mishra (Retd) to apprise him of bank’s performance

    Leh, Feb 02, 2024: Assistant General Manager, J&K Bank, Shri Dorjey Angchuk, called on the Hon’ble Lieutenant Governor, Ladakh, Brigadier (Dr) BD Mishra (Retd) at Lieutenant Governor’s Secretariat to apprise him of the performance of the bank. Secretary to HLG, Shri Ravinder Kumar, IAS, was present in the meeting.
    Shri Angchuk briefed the HLG about J&K Bank’s contribution to UT Ladakh. He informed that J&K Bank has a 79% contribution in the UTBLC credit plan. He also informed that J&K Bank provided various loans to beneficiaries for their livelihood opportunities.
    Shri Angchuk informed that the Non-Performing Asset (NPA) of J&K Bank stands at around 1%. He also informed that J&K Bank financed almost 83% of the agriculture KCC loans to farmers. He further informed that majority of loans for loans related to animal husbandry was financed by J&K Bank.
    Shri Angchuk informed about various loans provided to Micro, Small & Medium Enterprises (MSME) units and housing units. He also informed about loans availed by beneficiaries from the bank under Pradhan Mantri Employment Generation Programme (PMEGP), Pradhan Mantri Formalisation of Micro food processing Enterprises (PMFME), PM SVANidhi (Prime Minister Street Vendor’s AtmaNirbhar Nidhi) schemes, etc. He further informed about insurance provided under Pradhan Mantri Jeevan Jyoti Bima Yojna, Pradhan Mantri Suraksha Bima Yojana (PMSBY), etc.
    Shri Angchuk informed that J&K Bank provided dietary support to TB patients in Kargil and two electric vehicles to University of Ladakh under Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR). He also informed about the setting up of the Football Academy in Ladakh. He further informed about the proposed plan to open bank branches in Karsha and Bhimbet.
    Shri Angchuk requested the HLG’s intervention in ensuring that the fixed deposit accounts of government departments of UT Ladakh should remain with J&K Bank.
    The HLG stated that some diversification is required but assured continued support to them. He also asked Shri Angchuk to increase the number of bank accounts of female customers for the development of Ladakh and also the nation.
