Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav: CEC Feroz Khan flags off Fit India Freedom Run 2.0

KARGIL, AUGUST 14, 2021: Chairman and Chief Executive Councilor, LAHDC, Kargil Feroz Ahmad Khan flagged off Fit India Freedom Run 2.0 under Azadi Ka Amrit Mohatsav, organized by the Directorate of School Education Ladakh at Kurbathang Kargil here today.
The run started from FCI Kurbathang and concluded at Council Secretariat Kargil.
Director School Education UT Ladakh Safdar Ali, Chief Education Officer Kargil Nazir Ahmad Wani, Deputy CEO Sankoo, Principal DIET, Principals of Boys and Girls Higher Secondary Schools of Kargil, staff members and students of different educational institutions participated in the run.
`Speaking on the occasion, CEC Feroz Ahmad Khan said that to commemorate the spirit of the 75 years of Independence several events are being held throughout the country, and this run is also a part this campaign.
The CEC added that the importance of the run can be understood by knowing about our freedom struggle in which the father of nation Mahatma Gandhi used the historic Dandi March as a vital occasion for the freedom struggle movement of the nation.
Khan added that fitness is a vital part of a healthy and progressive society, and we should take individual efforts to live a healthy lifestyle.
Director School Education Safdar Ali said that the event has been organized to spread the importance of fitness amongst the society and now under the UT, athletes and sports lovers in Ladakh have more opportunities to excel, therefore youth should particularly focus on their fitness and remain forward in sporting and athletic activities.
