    CEC attends Navikru Eco Foundation’s Wipro Earthian regional award ceremony cum sustainability mela.
    Kargil, August 31, 2024: Chairman/CEC, LAHDC, Kargil, Dr. Mohd Jaffer Akhoon today attended Navikru Eco Foundation’s Wipro Earthian regional award ceremony cum sustainability mela held at Auditorium Hall, Kargil.
    Chief Education Officer Kargil, SD Namgial; Principal Government Model High School, Goma Kargil; Mohd Ismail, teachers, students of different schools, Jamia tul Zahra students, among others were present on the occasion.
    In his address, the CEC commended the Navikru Eco Foundation for organizing the event, which he described as a great step towards promoting environmental awareness and sustainable practices. He emphasised the importance of judicious use of water, highlighting the need to preserve this vital resource for future generations.
    Additionally, he touched upon the issue of biodegradable versus non-biodegradable waste and advocated for the use of eco-friendly aseptic sanitary pads and focused on the importance of aligning our lifestyle choices with environmental sustainability.
    Dr Jaffer Akhoon also praised the innovative projects presented by students, reflecting their creativity and commitment to sustainability.
    He reaffirmed the Council’s dedication to providing quality education in the district and applauded government teachers for their dedication and professionalism.
    The CEC encouraged students to focus not just on securing jobs but on gaining the skills and knowledge needed to be self-reliant.
    Chief Education Officer Kargil, SD Namgial, expressed his gratitude to the NGO for providing a platform for students to showcase their talents. He urged the organization to continue conducting such valuable programs in the future.
    Similarly, Principal Government Model High School, Goma Kargil, thanked both the administration and the NGO for their support and initiatives.
    During the event, awards were presented to various schools in recognition of their achievements in previous year’s Wipro Earthian Program and for their participation in this year’s activities.
    Earlier, Preeti Chouhan, the founder of Navikru Eco Foundation, addressed the gathering, and provided insights into the NGO’s initiatives in Ladakh. The program was anchored by Assistant Project Lead, Tajammul Akhtar.
