CEC Dr Jaffer pays tributes to brave hearts on 76th Army Day at War Memorial Changila.
Kargil, Jan 15: In observance of the 76th Army Day, Chairman/CEC, LAHDC, Kargil, Dr Mohd Jaffer Akhoon today laid wreaths to Maha Vir Chakra Major BS Randhawa 4 Rajput and Veer Chakra Major Vetri Nathan, VrC(P) 2/11 Gorkha Rifles at 13620 Post Changila Top.
On the occasion, EC, Aga Syed Mujataba, EC, Kacho Mohd Feroz, EC Zakir Hussain, ADC Kargil, ACR, besides officials of Army Brigadier Prateek Prashar Commander HQ 121, Colonel Shanu Krishna Commanding Officer 31 Punjab and K.K Venkatraman Deputy Commander HQ 121 were present.
The CEC paid tribute to the Army officers who sacrificed their lives in the line of duty to safeguard the sovereignty of our country. He also discussed with army officials the potential of 13620 post, locally known as Changila post, for tourist attraction.
CEC Kargil thanked army officials for opening the selfie point for the tourists. He stressed that the attraction will boost tourists across India which will also help to enhance the local economy as well. CEC Jaffer said that he will provide 5 KV solar plant at the war memorial for illumination of National Flag.
He suggested that the selfie point could serve as a unique tourist attraction. The CEC also mentioned that such tributes would enhance patriotism and provide first-hand insights into the efforts exerted by the army to safeguard our motherland.
