CEC Dr. Mohd Jaffer Akhoon Meets His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama at Karsha Photang, Zanskar.
Zanskar, July 22, 2025 – The Chief Executive Councillor (CEC) of the Ladakh Autonomous Hill Development Council (LAHDC) Kargil, Dr. Mohd Jaffer Akhoon, had the honour of meeting His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama during his visit to Zanskar at the Karsha Photang today.
Dr. Akhoon extended a warm and respectful welcome to His Holiness on behalf of the people of Kargil district. The interaction highlighted the deep spiritual and cultural ties between the people of Ladakh and His Holiness, whose visit holds great significance for the region.
The CEC was accompanied by Deputy Commissioner Kargil, Shri Rakesh Kumar, Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Kargil, Shri Shree Ram R., Additional Superintendent of Police (ASP) Shri Nitin Yadav and SDM Zanskar Mohd Hassan during the visit.
