    CEC Feroz Khan lays foundation stone of multipurpose cultural study centre at Manay Ringmo, beautification of Eidgah at Padum, traditional welcome gates at Pezila, Padum, Shinkunla Takes stock of healthcare facilities at CHC Padum, first-hand appraisal of public issues at Karsha

    KARGIL, SEPTEMBER 16, 2021: Chairman and Chief Executive Councilor, LAHDC, Kargil Feroz Ahmad Khan laid the foundation stone of various projects of Zanskar Development Authority (ZDA) and Public Works Department (PWD) Zanskar at Padum here today.
    Executive Councillor for Tourism Er Phunsok Tashi, Deputy Commissioner and CEO, LAHDC, Kargil Santosh Sukhadeve, Additional Deputy Commissioner Tsering Motup, Councilor Thasgam Abdul Rahim, Councilor Karsha Stanzin Jigmat, SDM Zanskar Sonam Dorjay besides other concerned district and sub divisional officers were present on the occasion.
    CEC Feroz Khan laid the foundation stone of multipurpose cultural study centre at Manay Ringmo and beautification of Eidgah at Padum at the cost Rs 1.50 crores each under the District Capex Budget. He also laid the foundation stone of traditional welcome gates at Pezila, Padum and Shinkunla at a total cost of Rs 1.62 crores under the District Capex Budget.
    At Manay Ringmo, on demand of the President All Gompa Association Zanskar Lama Urgian Tundup, the CEC directed the concerned officers to keep the provision of meditation center, museum hall, meeting hall, kitchen, old age home and other required facilities as a part of the multipurpose cultural study centre.
    Earlier, the CEC also visited Karsha where he interacted with several public delegations to know about their issues and developmental needs. He also met the monks of the Karsha Monastery.
    The people of the area projected several demands including the completion of the remaining works of the multi-utility centre and installation of mobile towers to improve connectivity.
    CEC Khan said that the LAHDC Kargil has already allotted Rs 1.25 crores for construction works of the multi-utility centre while requirement of additional funds will be taken up with the UT Administration Ladakh in due course of time.
    Meanwhile, the CEC also visited the Community Health Centre (CHC) Padum and took stock of patient care facilities available in the health center. He inspected various sections of the CHC including the wards, General OPD Section, Immunization Section, Minor OT, Orthopedic Section, Dental Section and other sections, expressed satisfaction on the availability of healthcare facilities and also interacted with the patients and attendants to inquire from them about the status of facilities being provided to them at the health centre.
    CEC Khan urged doctors and paramedical staff to work with continued missionary zeal and dedication. He also instructed the concerned officers to ensure the stocking of medicines and other healthcare facilities in the sub division in a timely manner well before the closure of the Zojila and Penzila passes.
