    CEC Feroz Khan takes assessment of development works under JJM, KREDA in Zanskar

    KARGIL, AUGUST 11, 2022:
    Chairman and Chief Executive Councillor (CEC), LAHDC, Kargil Feroz Ahmed Khan on the second day of his tour to Zanskar subdivision today visited various villages and took an assessment of development works under Jal Jeevan Mission (JJM) and Kargil Renewable Energy and Development Authority (KREDA).
    Executive Councillor for Tourism, RD and Zanskar Affairs, Er Phunsok Tashi, Deputy Commissioner and CEO, LAHDC, Kargil Santosh Sukhadeve, SSP Kargil Anayat Ali Chowdhary, Project Director KREDA Kacho Ahmad Ali Khan, Councillor in LAHDC Kargil Stanzin Lakpa, Executive Engineer PDD Altaf Hussain besides other concerned officers accompanied the CEC during the tour.
    At Raroo village, the CEC took an assessment of ongoing construction work on Micro Hydel Project Station Raroo constructed at an estimated cost of Rs 26 crores under Ladakh Renewable Energy Initiative Programme under the supervision of KREDA.
    On the occasion, Project Director KREDA, gave detailed information about the different achievements of the project.
    On the occasion, CEC Khan stressed that the project is vital for the energy needs of the people of Zanskar. He directed to install machinery and other civil works before the end of September 2022 and stressed to complete the works before the end of the current working season.
    Later, the CEC along with the dignitaries also visited various villages and sites in order to take assessment of works undergoing in JJM.
    CEC Khan visited Monay Gompa and Bardan village. At Bardan, he was informed that SR Tank is completed, and further distribution line and testing has also been completed.
    Taking the assessment of major JJM works at Padum-Cha, the CEC was informed that the collection chamber and SR tanks carrying water capacity of 60,000 gallons is undergoing, further the project is vital for the whole Padum town as it will suffice the demands of the town and can be used for irrigation purposes as well.
    The CEC also visited Sheila village where he was informed that water distribution under JJM in the village is successfully undergoing.
    Khan expressed satisfaction over the execution of works and directed to speed up the remaining works to complete the assigned targets before the stipulated timeline. He also directed to ensure round-the-year quality drinking water supply for the dwellers of Zanskar subdivision.
