    CEC Gyalson lays foundation stone for construction of motorable bridges at Phyang and Phey villages

    Leh,Sep 17: The Chairman/Chief Executive Councillor, LAHDC Leh, Advocate Tashi Gyalson in the presence of DC Leh, Councillor Phyang and BDC Leh laid the foundation stone for the construction of 24.35 Metre Span motorable bridge over Phyang Nala at Chusgo, Phyang village and re-launched dismantled motorable bridges over Indus river at Phey village today.
    CEC Tashi Gyalson termed this day historic and congratulated the people of Phyang and Phey village for getting their long-pending demand fulfilled. He stated that these kinds of projects were overlooked in the past due to financial constraints but now after Ladakh became a Union Territory, we have been able to meet up big projects like this easily. He added that such projects will pave way for more developments in every sector of the villages.
    Councillor Phyang, Tundup Nurbu also highlighted the importance of the bridge to the people and extended his gratitude to the CEC and DC Leh for gracing their presence for the foundation laying ceremony. Citing examples from ancient histories of the concerned villages, he stated that we should focus on the development of inner values along with materialistic development. He also requested the executing agency and its officials for early completion of the bridge, easing the lives of the people of Phyang and Phey villages.
    Addressing the gathering, DC Leh and BDC Chairperson Leh also congratulated the people of Phyang and Phey villages and assured them that the District Administration and Block Development Council will ensure addressing all grievances and will help develop the villages in all possible sectors.
    DC Leh, Srikant Suse, Councillor Phyang, Tundup Nurbu, BDC Chairperson Leh, Dr Skalzang Dorjey, Executive Engineer and Junior Engineers of R&B Division Leh, Sheikh of Imam Bargah Phyang, Villagers led by Sarpanches and Nambardars of Phyang and Phey villages attended the foundation laying ceremony today.
