CEC inaugurates lift irrigation facility at Hunderman Mall.
Kargil, November 09, 2024: Chairman/CEC, LAHDC, Kargil, Dr. Mohd Jaffer Akhoon today inaugurated a new lift irrigation facility at Hunderman Mall.
The inauguration ceremony was attended by Member of Parliament (MP) Ladakh, Mohmad Haneefa, Deputy Commissioner (DC), CEO, LAHDC, Kargil, Shrikant Balasaheb Suse, Chief Engineer of Irrigation and Flood Control (I&FC) Maqbool Hussain, Director Health Dr. Tashi Thinles, Exen Irrigation Kargil, Ghulam Hussain, and Councillor Poyen Constituency, Mohd Amin.
Following the inauguration, Dr. Akhoon visited Imam Bargah, where he congratulated the villagers on the successful completion of the lift irrigation project.
The CEC said that the new lift irrigation facility is a step towards ensuring that villagers have access to the water they need for their crops.
He further added that the lift irrigation system will reduce water scarcity in the village, enable farmers to access a steady water supply for their fields.
The villagers expressed gratitude for the lift irrigation and also put forth various demands such as ALC certification, a library, a children’s playground, and other essential facilities.
In response, Dr. Akhoon assured the villagers that the Hill Council is committed to addressing these issues. He reaffirmed the Council’s dedication for regional development and supporting the local community’s growth and well-being.
