CEC Kargil attends annual convocation day of ITI Kargil.
Kargil, October 26, 2024: Chairman/Chief Executive Councilor, LAHDC, Kargil, Dr Mohd Jaffer Akhoon today attended the annual convocation day of ITI Kargil.
Executive Councilor, Kacho Mohd Feroz, Chief Planning Officer Kargil, Superintendent ITI Kargil, UT Skill Development Nodal Officer Dr Javed Naqi, Professor Shabani, besides students of ITI Kargil were present during the convocation day.
CEC Kargil congratulated students for successfully completing their course in their respective trades. He also congratulated staff members, teachers and Superintendent ITI Kargil for organizing the annual convocation day to felicitate the students.
He said that LAHDC Kargil has a vision for supporting start-ups in various sectors to provide opportunities to boost self-employment generation so that youth would not be dependent only on government jobs.
CEC Kargil also suggested having internships of 5- 6 months under various construction agencies working in Kargil in various sectors like plumbing, welding, electrician and other categories so that students will have the first-hand experience of working along with learning.
The CEC said the LAHDC has a mission to make Kargil self-independent in all sectors using the skills of the new professionals in various sectors. He also said that such a pool of talent will enhance the local economy as well.
Meanwhile, Dr Akhoon said that he will release some funds to purchase tools for the first three trades like plumbing, tailoring and electrician.
Executive Councilor, Kacho Mod Feroz said skill development is the main challenge India is facing at present to develop the economy. He said in the near future, skilled manpower will be the greatest opportunity for the coming generation.
The EC requested CEC Kargil to provide additional land for the ITI Kargil so that it will be developed in all respects and the ITI will be equipped with modern technical machinery.
UT Skill Development Nodal Officer, Dr Javed Naqi shared his experience and learning’s of visit to Denmark at various industrial training centres. He said a copy of proposal for the upliftment and betterment of ITIs has been shared with Commissioner Secretary Higher Education. He also said that a copy will be submitted to LAHDC Kargil for their necessary inputs and suggestions.
Meanwhile the convocation day ended with the distribution of certificates among the toppers of the last year in various trades.
