CEC Khan takes stock of status of developmental works, requirements of GHSS Silmo
KARGIL, SEPTEMBER 22, 2021: In order to take stock of the status of different developmental works and requirements of Government Higher Secondary School (GHSS) Silmoo, Chairman and Chief Executive Councilor, LAHDC, Kargil Feroz Ahmad Khan who is also the Councillor of Silmoo Constituency convened a meeting of the concerned officers at Tourist Facilitation Centre Biamathang here today.
Chief Education Officer (CEO) Kargil Nazir Ahmad Wani, Principal GHSS Silmo Phunsok Dorje, Senior Master Ghulam Jaffar besides other concerned officers of Education Department Kargil were present during the meeting.
During the course of the meeting, the CEC took brief from the officers about the pace of ongoing works on the school development and various issues besides requirements.
The CEC was informed about the need for
for construction of a multipurpose hall and central heating system for the school, deployment of driver for the school bus, deployment of lecturers, school fencing, provision of PAS system, logistics for school band and provision of Ice Hockey skates for the Ice Hockey players.
As regards to the vacancy of lecturers, the CEC directed CEO Kargil to submit a feasible proposal with in 3 days’ time and pertaining to Ice Skates he assured that they will be provided to the school in near future, adding he suggested to use Ice Hockey rink at Lalung for winter sports activities of the school. He also said that the matter with regard to availability of land for the construction of multipurpose hall will be taken up with Revenue Department and Nambardar concerned while for school fencing, he said that availability of land needs to seen.
CEC Feroz Khan further assured that for central heating system, provision will be kept in next year’s plan, adding he said that as for other demands of the school necessary measures will be taken in due course of time.
CEC Khan also directed the concerned officers to look for the possibility to deploy driver for the school bus from the Education Department or in case of non-availability, he assured that the District Motor Garages will be approached.
Meanwhile, the CEC stressed officers concerned to seek ways and measures to make GHSS Silmoo emerge as a model school so that students are not forced to migrate to district headquarters for secondary level studies. He assured all out support to the overall development of the school and directed the school staff to remain committed towards their responsibilities.
