CEC Leh flags-off Survey Team for Mobile Active TB Case Findings in Leh
Leh, Sep 15: Two-month long Active Tuberculosis (TB) Case Finding under the ‘TB Harega Desh Jeetega’ campaign in Leh district took its pace again today since it was on hold due to the surge in the Covid cases earlier this year.
The campaign was flagged off by the Chairman/Chief Executive Councillor, LAHDC, Leh, Advocate Tashi Gyalson from the Council Secretariat, Leh today in the presence of CMO Leh, DTO Leh, MS SNM Hospital Leh, and various officials from the Health Department Leh. The mobile team will start their survey from one of the remotest regions of the Trans Singay Lalok region and will start screenings for TB with advanced equipment such as the TrueNat.
DTO Leh, Dr. Tashi Namgyal highlighted that the initiative of the NAtional TB Elimination Programme (NTEP) has been taken by the Ministry of Health, Government of India to eliminate Tuberculosis in India by the year 2025. He added that the mobile team from District TB Control will conduct surveys and educate the locals on the importance of TB screening. He also stated that the locals will get direct benefits transfer from the District and UT Administration. The campaign has been conducted under the banner of ‘Azadi KA Amrit Mahotsav’ marking the 75 glorious years of India’s Independence.
