CEC, MP visit proposed land site for construction of new Kargil Airport at Wakha.
Kargil, August 13, 2024: Chairman/Chief Executive Councilor, LAHDC, Kargil, Dr Mohd Jaffer Akhoon along with Member of Parliament Ladakh Mohmad Haneefa Jan today visited a proposed land site for construction of new Kargil Airport at Wakha.
The CEC was accompanied by Councilor Shargole, Mohd Javed; BDO Shargole and local representatives of the adjoining villages of Wakha.
CEC Kargil along with Member Parliament Ladakh inspected and assessed the land feasibility for the construction of the new airport.
The CEC was informed that earlier team of officers/officials of the Airport Authority of India, Indian Air Force and the Directorate General of Civil Aviation had visited sites at Wakha Kargil and other areas of the district in 2021 for examining the feasibility of these sites for construction of airports.
The CEC Kargil said that he along with the Member of Parliament Ladakh will take up the issue with the Ministry of Civil Aviation, Hon’ble LG Ladakh and at other relevant platforms. He also said that further course of action will be taken accordingly.
