CEC visits Lalung, Thasgam village, addresses issue related to irrigation, drinking water.
Kargil, July 3, 2024: Chairman/ Chief Executive Councilor, LAHDC, Kargil, Dr Mohd Jaffer Akhoon today visited Lalung, Thasgam village and on spot addressed issue related to irrigation and drinking water facilities.
The CEC was accompanied by Executive Engineer, SVD Sankoo, Executive Engineer I&FC, Executive Engineer PHE, Executive Engineer Mechanical besides other concerned officers were present during the visit.
The villagers informed the CEC that due to the water sacristy drought like situation has arisen in the village and is creating hindrances in executing agricultural works.
He directed EXN Irrigation to resolve the issue of water for irrigation purpose within two months.
The CEC Kargil directed the EXN, PHE, to resolve the issue of drinking water by utilizing bore-well facilities, till then water tanker services will be provided to the villagers on a weekly basis.
CEC Kargil also announced to provide 6 quintals grass for the villagers of Lalung and upto 4 quintals grass for those who have their fields in village Lalung.
While addressing the issue of road compensation CEC Kargil assured that the issue will be taken with the Hon’ble LG Ladakh on the priority basis and will be addressed at the earliest.
