CEC visits RSETI Centre Kargil, emphasizes on youth empowerment through skill development.
Kargil, October 21, 2024: Chairman/CEC, LAHDC, Kargil, Dr. Mohd Jaffer Akhoon, today visited Rural Self Employment Training Institute (RSETI) Centre Kargil to review the skill development programs offered at the institute.
During the visit, Mohd Ali, a faculty member at RSETI and Fatima Banoo briefed the CEC on various trades offered at the centre, highlighting courses designed to equip the youth with essential skills for self-employment and entrepreneurship. The trades covered include training in embroidery, tailoring, plumber, electrician and more, aimed at empowering the rural population.
Dr. Akhoon also interacted with trainees at the embroidery class. He emphasized the importance of such skill development programs in making the youth self-reliant.
The CEC underscored the need to involve the Hill Council Kargil in these initiatives and urged the faculty to coordinate with Panchayati Raj Institutions (PRIs) to raise awareness about the programs.
He encouraged the participation of more rural youth in the skill training programs, which would lead to self-sufficiency and livelihood opportunities in the region.
Dr. Akhoon reiterated the Hill Council’s commitment to supporting youth empowerment initiatives and stressed the importance of collaboration between government bodies and local institutions in achieving this goal.
