    CGM Post Office, President HMS Leh & Zonal Head ICICI Bank-led delegations call on Hon’ble Lt Governor Brig (Dr) BD Mishra (Retd).

    Leh, August 03, 2023: Chief General Manager (CGM), Department of Post, Sh. Ajay Kumar Roy called on the Hon’ble Lieutenant Governor of Ladakh, Brigadier (Dr) BD Mishra (Retd), at Raj Niwas.
    Shri Roy apprised the HLG of the reasons for the delay in delivering parcels in Ladakh and assured him to take the necessary steps to improve their delivery system in Ladakh. He informed that parcels will be sent directly to Ladakh from Delhi and Srinagar to ensure their quick delivery. He further informed that the post office will purchase four new vehicles to improve the delivery of parcels in Ladakh.
    Shri Roy said that they have engaged three airlines -Indigo, Air India and SpiceJet- for the delivery of mails.
    The HLG asked Shri Roy to ensure the early delivery of parcels/mails in Ladakh so that the people do not face any inconvenience. The HLG also suggested Shri Roy to coordinate with Indian Air Force to lift the parcels in IL-76 so that parcels reach early in Ladakh.
    A delegation from ICICI Bank led by its Zonal Head, Shri Rajiv Bhatia called on the HLG at Raj Niwas. Secretary to HLG, Sh. Ravinder Kumar, IAS was also present in the meeting.
    Shri Bhatia informed the HLG about Financial Literacy Awareness Campaign -an awareness campaign initiated by the Bank to raise awareness about digital banking and cyber frauds related to banking transactions. He also informed that the bank has adopted Spituk village and held an awareness campaign in the village.
    Shri Bhatia informed about the video message created by them on digital payment and cyber frauds related to digital banking/transactions to raise awareness among the people. He also informed that the message has been translated into the local language and will be aired on Doordarshan and All India Radio for the benefit of the locals.
    The HLG launched the video on Financial Literacy Awareness Campaign. Appreciating their initiative, the HLG instructed the bank authorities to organise the awareness program at the village level to raise awareness among the people in rural areas. The HLG suggested the bank officials to discuss the plans and strategies related to the campaign with Secretary to HLG, Shri Ravinder Kumar, IAS.
    A delegation of Hindu Mahasabha, Leh led by its President, Shri Balbir Singh, called on the HLG at Raj Niwas.
    Shri Balbir apprised the HLG of the Shri Krishna Mandir near Polo Ground Leh and requested to provide additional land so that they can hold various religious functions. He also requested for assistance in the construction of yoga and meditation hall at the Mandir premises.
    The HLG suggested Shri Balbir Singh to meet the Deputy Commissioner, Leh in this regard.
