Chairman/CEC, Tashi Gyalson chaired a meeting to discuss the ongoing final preparations regarding the conduct of the inaugural ‘Climate Cup 2023’ Football tournament to be held from September 1st- 7th at the Astroturf Open Stadium, Spituk, Leh.
Joint Director, Sports Ladakh, Moses Kunzang; Additional Deputy Commissioner, Leh, Sonam Chosjor;; Deputy Secretary, LAACL Leh, Tsewang Paldan; DSE PW (R&B) Leh, Dorjey Gyatso; OSD to Secretary Sports, Dr. Stanzin Thakchos; Assistant Director, Information Department, Leh, Dr. Tundup Namgial; DySP, Ladakh Police, Manzoor Hussain; concerned officers from line departments like PWD, PHE, PDD, Sports, Tourism and CEO KESF; Director KESF and officials of LFA attended the meeting.
Discussing the nuances of the preparations, CEC Tashi Gyalson had detailed deliberation on the role and responsibilities of the concerned departments ensuring the smooth conduct of the football tournament.
CEC Gyalson directed the officials to ensure that all the arrangements are made in consonance with the aim of being an environmentally conscious and sustainable tournament, minimizing the use of plastics/polyethylene along with minimal waste policies.
The meeting also decided on the exclusive usage of the Open Stadium for the Climate Cup tournament from Aug 29th till Sept 7th relating to the practices of the participating teams and the operations of the organisers.
It is pertinent to inform that all sports enthusiasts are appealed to abide by the restrictions in using the Open Stadium for any other sporting activities during this period and that any inconvenience caused is highly regretted.
