    Chairperson, Haj Committee, Ladakh chairs meeting to review feedback on Haj 2024, preparedness for Haj 2025

    Kargil, November 13, 2024: Chairperson, Haj Committee, UT Ladakh, Mohd Ali Majaz today chaired a meeting to review feedback on Haj 2024 and discussed preparedness for Haj 2025, at Conference Hall, TFC, Kargil.
    The meeting was attended by Haj Committee members Mohd Ali Chandan, Zaheer Hussain Babar, and Nazir Ahmad; Khadim-e-Hujjaj, Aga Syed Altaf; Accounts Officer, Zakir Hussain; Assistant Haj Officer, Haji Ali; former Hajj pilgrims, and other relevant officials.
    The meeting was informed that 251 Hajis have been selected for the year 2025, including 42 from Leh and rest from Kargil district.
    Councilor GM Pore, Syed Ali, ZEO (Retd.) Mehfooz Hussain, Aga Syed Kazimi Mousavi, Khadimaen e Hujjaj, Aga Syed Altaf, Ghulam Nabi Zia, and other Haj Pilgrims, who performed Haj in recent years, briefed about their experiences from recent pilgrimage. They appreciated the facilities provided during the Haj pilgrimage by the Haj Committee.
    During the meeting, Haj pilgrims highlighted issues faced during their pilgrimage, such as challenges with changing Muktabs, inadequate washroom facilities and drinking water availability etc. urging the Haj Committee to address these concerns.
    Various suggestions included allocating a single building for all Ladakhi pilgrims, forming separate groups with dedicated Khadims for Ladakhis, increasing the number of Khadimaen-e-Hujjaj and providing religious (spiritual) guides to assist pilgrims during their journey etc. were put forth by them during the meeting.
    The Chairperson Haj Committee, UT Ladakh, Mohd Ali Majaz, emphasized that the meeting was aimed to gather feedback from pilgrims on challenges faced during their Haj journey.
    He assured that their concerns, including issues with facilities and services, would be communicated to concerned higher authorities, with steps taken to address them for future pilgrimages.
    The members of Haj Committee also addressed the meeting, assuring that necessary steps would be taken to streamline the system and improve facilities for Haj pilgrims from Ladakh.
