    Cleanliness drive held at Itchoo Pangbar Broq.

    Kargil, Sep 27, 2023: To mark the occasion of World Tourism Day, the Tourism Department Kargil, in collaboration with Rural Development and Panchayati Raj Department Kargil, today organized a cleanliness drive at Pangbar Broq.
    The drive was carried out under the themes of “Tourism & Green Investment,” “Travel for Life,” “Swachhta Hi Seva,” and “Swachhta Pakhwada.”
    Assistant Director Tourism, Aga Syed Toha, Block Development Officer, Barsoo, Ahsan Ali, Assistant Tourism Officer, Rasool Lal, Sarpanch, Panches, Numberdar, young volunteers, villagers actively participated in the cleanliness drive.
    During the event, the Assistant Director of Tourism mentioned that Pangbar village marks the final destination in the Barsoo Nallah region and boasts significant untapped tourism potential.
    He stated that the Tourism Department has facilitated homestays for the local residents and encouraged them to maintain these accommodations for tourists while also utilizing them as a source of income. The Assistant Director further inspired the villagers to embrace a lifestyle centered around cleanliness and hygiene.
    He mentioned that the Tourism Department is actively scouting additional tourist destinations. The Assistant Director emphasized the importance of tourism in promoting cultural exchange, driving economic growth, and facilitating sustainable development.
    He said Tourism Department is exploring more tourist destinations. The AD highlighted the significance of tourism in fostering cultural exchange, economic growth and sustainable development.
    Later, the Block Development Officer (BDO) Barsoo, in the presence of villagers and other officials, initiated the collection of soil from various households as part of the ‘Meri Maati Mera Desh’ campaign, which was launched by the Prime Minister of India, Narendra Modi. During the event, they also took the pledge of ‘Meri Maati Mera Desh.’
