    Leh,Sept 28: We at LAHDC extend our heartfelt congratulations to Tar Village for being recognized as one of the Best Tourism Villages of India 2024 in the Responsible Tourism Category. This prestigious honor, announced on World Tourism Day, highlights the village’s commitment to promoting sustainable tourism practices that benefit both the environment and the local community.
    The award ceremony took place at Vigyan Bhawan, New Delhi, and was attended by distinguished dignitaries, including the Hon’ble Vice President of India, Shri Jagdeep Dhankhar; Hon’ble Union Minister of Tourism and Culture, Shri Gajendra Singh Shekhawat; Hon’ble Minister of State for Tourism, Shri Suresh Gopi; and Hon’ble Union Minister of Civil Aviation, Shri Kinjarapu Rammohan Naidu. This recognition not only celebrates the hard work and dedication of the residents of Tar Village but also positions it as a model for responsible tourism in the region.
    LAHDC has extended unwavering support in making Tar Village a sustainable and economically friendly destination for tourists. Their initiatives have fostered an environment where local culture and traditions can thrive alongside tourism.
    The Chairman/CEC Adv. Tashi Gyalson has lauded the proactive leadership of the villagers headed by Nambardar and Councillor Lobzang Sherab, whose efforts have been vital in guiding the community toward this significant achievement. Their commitment to preserving the village’s unique heritage while embracing responsible tourism sets an inspiring example for others.
