Councillors Nyoma & Korzok & Smt Yangskit call on Hon’ble Lt Governor Brig (Dr) BD Mishra (Retd).

Leh, July 31, 2023: Councillor, Nyoma, Shri Ishey Spalzang and Councillor, Korzok, Shri Karma Namdak, called on the Hon’ble Lieutenant Governor of Ladakh, Brigadier (Dr) BD Mishra, at Raj Niwas. Inspector General, ITBP, North West Frontier, Shri Sanjay Gunjyal was present in the meeting.
Shri Spalzang raised several issues related to Nyoma constituency, viz. the need to sanction the construction of the road between Loma and Tsaga village included in Special Development Package (SDP) plan; the renaming of the Airport/Airstrip from Nyoma to Mudh Airport/ Airstrip; the sanctioning of BSNL towers in Nyoma constituency immediately to improve telecommunication connectivity, particularly for the ease and convenience of tourism-related activities, etc. He highlighted the issue of lack of adequate staff at various government departments in the Nyoma sub-division such as PWD, Rural Development Department, Health Department and Revenue Department and the need to take appropriate action in this regard.
Councillor, Korzok, Shri Karma Namdak raised several issues related to his constituency, including the need to expedite the installation of mobile towers in his constituency to improve telecommunications connectivity at Korzok, Chumar and Samad Rokchan; the relocation of ITBP Camp from Korzok village, etc.
IG ITBP NWF Shri Gunjyal informed that ITBP would adhere to the joint survey by the Forest Department and Revenue Department to demarcate the land and would not keep any land which is not allotted to them.
HLG stated that the villagers should follow the outcomes of the joint survey and also assured to provide all possible assistance for development activities for the people of Korzok constituency. He also asked both Councillors to prepare separate letters of their demands, meet the concerned Departmental Secretaries and follow up on the matter with them.
Smt Stanzin Yangskit, daughter of Late Tsering Paljor, called on the HLG at Raj Niwas. Advisor to HLG, Dr Pawan Kotwal, IAS; ADGP Ladakh Police, Shri SD Jamwal, IPS; Secretary, FCS&CA, Shri Yetindra Maralkar, IAS and Secretary, Law, Fayaz Ahmed Sheikh were present in the meeting.
Smt Yangskit informed that her late father was in active government service in the Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs Department when he passed away. She also informed that her mother too had passed away when she was 13 years old. She further informed that the relatives of her father have diverted her father’s pension in the name of her grandfather and deprived her of all her rights due to which she is facing financial challenges.
Smt Yangskit requested her appointment for a government job on compassionate grounds on the basis of SRO-43.
The HLG instructed the concerned officials to provide legal and appropriate police assistance to Smt Yangskit.
