Cultural Academy Leh organizes poetic symposium, releases books

Leh, August 09: Academy of Arts, Culture & Languages, Leh organizes a poetic symposium on the theme environment and carbon- neutral. Also, four bi-monthly journals and publications ‘Sheeraza’ and translations of first Ladakhi Publications of 1976 ‘Shesring Melong’ was released as a part of ‘Azadi Ka Amrut Mahotsav’ at Lotsava Auditorium, today. The book ‘Shesrig Melong’ (Mirror of Culture) 1976 is translated by Dr. Nawang Tsering, Former Principal, Central Institute of Buddhist Studies, Leh-Ladakh & edited by Dr. Thupstan Norboo, Editor of Cultural Academy, Leh.
The publication comprises of important articles on varied aspects of Ladakh like art, culture, literature, geography, history, script, folklore, painting, architecture, performing, arts, ancient arts and others.
Dr. Jamyang Gyaltson chaired & participated in the poetic symposium and expressed his gratitude. He added that this kind of symposium should be organized more often. Further, he added that dissemination of information on important topics through artistic form is praiseworthy.
Similarly, Dr.Nawang Tsering added that translation is important to disseminate the information to a larger audience.
