DC Kargil chairs DCC, DLRC meeting, stresses banks to play their part for employment generation, entrepreneurship.
Kargil, Dec 14: Deputy Commissioner/CEO, LAHDC, Kargil Shrikant Suse, today chaired the District Level Review Committee/District Consultative Committee (DLRC/DCC) meeting for the Quarter ended September 2023.
The meeting reviewed achievements of the Annual Credit Plan and various Government Sponsored Schemes on ending June and September 2023.
While presenting the performance of various banks operating in the District, Lead District Manager (LDM), the convener of the meeting, Muzaffar Hussain informed that total deposits of all banks in the district stood at Rs 2956 .12 crore and total advances stood at Rs. 1344.60 crore as on 30th September 2023 indicating a growth of 15.35% in deposits and 86.09 lakhs in advances over the quarter ending June, 2023.
The priority sector of advances stood at Rs 513.38 crore and agriculture advances at Rs 161.76 crore. The CD Ratio remained at 45.49 percent as on 30th September 2023.
Under the District Credit Plan 2023, banks disbursed Rs 513.39 crore for the priority sector and Rs 831.24 crore for the non-priority sector. The total disbursement as of September 30, 2023, is Rs 1344.60 crore, achieving 75.56 percent of the ACP target.
The Lead Bank Manager briefed the DC on the banks’ performances in priority and non-priority sectors, covering areas such as agriculture, education, housing, energy, and self-employment schemes like NRLM, NULM, KCC, PM-SVANIDHI, PMEGP, PMFME, etc.
Further, Branch heads of various banks apprised the DC about achievements and future action plans to improve performance in these parameters. The Deputy Commissioner directed all banks to take measures to further improve the CD ratio.
DC Kargil advised Banks to play their role concerning various schemes implemented by different Ministries for employment generation and entrepreneurship in the district. Further, discussions were held on financial literacy camps organized by respective Banks.
The Deputy Commissioner instructed the banks and line departments to conduct financial literacy camp in rural areas to cover maximum number of beneficiaries and to increase public awareness regarding the schemes.
District officers of the concerned departments apprised DC about the progress in various government schemes like NRLM, NULM, PM-SVANidhi, PMEGP, PMFME in Kargil district and issues faced by applicants to avail benefits. DC Kargil stressed on smooth coordination and regular monitoring by banks and departments so that applicants do not face any issues.
Representative from Rural Self Employment Training Institute (RSETI), Kargil apprised DC Kargil about the progress on self-employment training programs for the unemployed youth.
He also informed about the successful batches trained by RSETI in various fields of training program. DC Kargil directed also to include insulation course in their curriculum so that local youth would be trained in the said field.
Bank-wise performance on Social Security Schemes saturation was also reviewed during the meeting. DC further instructed all banks to adhere to target set for each bank to cover under Social Security Scheme to the existing customers or beneficiaries.
DC Kargil also instructed all banks to ensure special awareness program through Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra (VBSY) which is undergoing program of the Central Government to spread awareness about various centrally sponsored schemes for the beneficiaries.
Later on District Level Technical Committee (DLTC) of Kargil district informed about the scale of finance (SOF) for the financial year 2024-2025 for the district.
The meeting was attended by Assistant Commissioner Development Kargil, Chief Planning Officer Kargil, Lead District Manager Kargil, Executive Officer MC, Chief Horticulture Officer, Chief Animal Husbandry and Sheep Officer, Assistant Director Fisheries, Chief Agriculture Officer, and various other officials including representative of various Government and Private Banks of Kargil.
