DC Kargil Chairs Revenue Review Meeting at Revenue Complex Zanskar

Zanskar, July 21, 2025: Deputy Commissioner Kargil, Rakesh Kumar, IAS, today chaired a review meeting at the Revenue Complex, Zanskar, to assess the ongoing development works and streamline revenue related activities in the region.
SDM, Zanskar, Mohd Hassan, Executive Engineer, R&B, Zanskar, Naib Tehsildars of Padum and Lungnaq, beside Girdawar Qanoongos, Patwaris and other revenue officials were present.
During the meeting, the DC directed the R&B Division Zanskar to ensure completion of the ground floor of the Revenue Complex, fully furnished, by 12th August 2025 to facilitate the early shifting of the Sub-Divisional Magistrate (SDM) Office and Tehsil Office Zanskar to the new premises, thereby enhancing the efficiency and accessibility of public services.
Emphasizing transparency and accountability, the DC instructed all revenue field staff to ensure timely completion and updation of revenue records. He informed that in his next visit, a detailed inspection will be conducted on revenue activities, including mutations, girdawari, land record updation, and land acquisition under rules.
Further, the DC strictly directed Patwaris to maintain the Roznamcha (daily diary) without fail and to keep land records and daily activities updated in a clean and transparent manner. He reiterated the importance of proper infrastructure, reliable internet connectivity, and adequate facilities to strengthen public service delivery.
The DC also took stock of the progress on Multi-Utility Centres and reviewed the status of domicile certificate issuance and others. He instructed concerned departments to conduct weekly camps to facilitate public access to essential government services.
DC instructed the SDM Zanskar to explore designated parking spaces in the Padum main market as part of a long-term urban planning strategy. He advised initiating the tendering process and eventual handover to the Block Development Officer for execution.
