DC Kargil visits various polling stations at Sankoo to assess preparations for by-election for Thangdumbur Constituency.
Kargil, September 26, 2024: Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC), Kargil, Suhail Ahmad today visited various polling stations at Sankoo to assess the preparations of by-election for Thangdumbur Constituency of LAHDC, Kargil.
During the visit, the ADC Kargil visited various Polling Stations including the polling station at Govt. Middle School Nagmakousar Sankoo, Govt. Middle School Chumikchan Sankoo, Govt. Middle School Khalamarpo Sankoo, Govt. Higher Secondary School, Sankoo and Govt. Girls High School, Sankoo.
The ADC took a detailed assessment of assured minimum facilities required for the successful conduct of polling on the poll day. He enquired about the feasibility of rooms, availability of drinking water, construction of walking ramps, electricity, washrooms, furniture and other necessary facilities.
He instructed that necessary arrangements should be put in place at the earliest by the concerned departments adding that cleanliness must be ensured. He further asserted to provide necessary facilities to the general voters.
The ADC also visited the Strong Room and Counting Hall at Sankoo and reviewed the arrangements. ACR/Deputy District Election Officer, Kargil, Mohd Sharief; Returning Officer (RO), Ashiq Hussain; Incharge SDM, Sankoo, Asgar Ali besides concerned officers accompanied the ADC during the tour.
Earlier, during a meeting at SDM Office Sankoo under chairmanship of ADC kargil, detailed discussions were held regarding the arrangements to be made by concerned departments for assured minimum facilities at polling stations.
