    DC Leh @SantoshSukhadeve Meets with PrincipaLeh, March 17, 2025: The Deputy Commissioner Leh, Santosh Sukhadeve, chaired a meeting with the Principals/ Heads of various private schools to discuss the registration of Pradhan Mantri Jan Aarogya Yojana (PMJAY) cards for school-going children on March 17, at the Video Conference Room, DC Office Leh.
    During the meeting, Principals and Head of Private Schools were asked to identify students without PMJAY cards. They were instructed to check if students were registered under Ayushman Bharat and possess a Golden Card. If not, they were to directed to verify if students were registered under Aadhaar or listed on the ration card.
    It was informed that the data is required to organize camps for creating PMJAY cards. The data will also help to organize camps for registration of Aadhaar cards and ration cards. The schools have been given one week to submit the required data to the Chief Education Officer, who will compile it for further submission to the Chief Medical Officer.
    The PM-JAY scheme provides a fully government-financed health insurance/assurance scheme, offering a cover of Rs. 5 lakhs per family per year for secondary and tertiary care hospitalization across public and private empaneled hospitals in India.
    The meeting was attended by the Chief Medical Officer Leh, Chief Education Officer, Assistant Manager UIDAI Leh, and principals/head of various schools.
